Today's weather forecast called for a 90% chance of rain. We started the morning with showers and were prepared with our rain gear for our ride to Strobl. Although the morning began with rain, we noticed that it had let up some at 10:15 and we decided to make a break for it. (Of course, we first had to stop off at Zauner's since they were out of apple strudel yesterday...today we were there early enough that we were successful in our quest.) Amazingly enough, the rain stayed away for our entire ride to Strobl! Our ride to Strobl wasn't as memorable as some of the other days because we pushed ahead trying to beat the rain. However, one part I will not forget was the narrow section of bike path that ran along the river in Bad Ischl that had a wall on one side and the river with no barrier on the other! Although it wasn't raining while we were riding, the paths were very wet with puddles and loose rocks so I was very relieved to move on to a section of the path that wasn't beside the river, but ran along a meadow instead.
Upon arrival in Strobl we enjoyed a rain free picnic along the shore of Lake Wolfgang before checking in at our new hotel (yet another different and amazing view). Although we beat the rain, the clouds were still surrounding us, so we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at our hotel.
We ended our day with a delightful meal filled with conversation with the other couple from our biking tour. Although our tour is self-guided, there is one other couple, from Scotland, who is on the same schedule of rides and hotels that we are. They were originally supposed to be on the tour that follows the Danube River, however, with all of the recent flooding they were moved to the lakes region with us. It was great to learn more about their culture and share stories from our rides. We are sorry that they didn't get to do the tour they had planned on doing, but we have enjoyed getting to know them over the past several days.
Tomorrow will be a big day where we plan to ride to St. Gilgen to the
Instrument museum and the Mozart museum (Mozart's grandfather, mother,
and sister all lived in St. Gilgen although Mozart was never actually in
St. Gilgen!) before returning through St. Wolfgang to hopefully ride on
the cog railway. (Sound of Music fans will recognize this as the train
that the children and Maria are riding on to get to the pasture where
they sing "Do-Re-Mi". Until then, so long, farewell, auf weidersehen, good night!

| Relaxing in the hotel lounge in Bad Ischl waiting for the rain to stop |
| About an hour into our ride we were able to shed the rain gear because we hadn't had any rain at all! |
| There are shrines everywhere here! This one was a small chapel! |
| Water garden in Strobl with an English description of how to utilize the facility. |
| Evidently, this is where you do the arm therapy... |
| and this is for the foot therapy. Rick looks a bit skeptical of putting his feet in this..as was I. Um, no thanks to the cold water therapy, I prefer a hot shower |
| We ventured into a grocery store on the look out for the Ketchup pringles for Connor and I thought it was funny that they had Kellog's brand cereal with all different names... |
| The view from our new room. This hotel is actually in Weissenbach (not the Weissenbach am Attersee from yesterday, different Weissenbach) and our room looks out to the mountains. |
| Almost every town we have visited has a band stand. This one in Strobl was especially nice. I'm thinking we need one of these in Indianapolis. Connor, perhaps this could be your Eagle Scout project? You know, dream big! Fund an item? NCHS BPO silent auction fund an item? |
| We keep hoping that we will be in town for one of the concerts, but we've missed them in every town so far. I guess we still have a few more days! |
