Day 4-First bike ride

What an adventure we had today on our first bike ride from Mondsee to St. Georgen.  The ride was only 25km, but as described in our map notes, it was "undulating".

Highlighting the route on our map (and hoping that we don't need to actually look at the map and that we can just follow the route notes!)
Our hotel room in Mondsee, and just like at home....
There was a mint on my pillow!

Ready to leave our hotel

The first part of our ride was along the banks of Mondsee (Moon Lake)

A small playground with one of the many churches we rode past today in the background

The weather was beautiful!

These cows along the route reminded my of my horse who was fenced in with a single electric wire fence.  The difference was, most of these electric fences were solar powered!

Lambs for Laurel!!!!! They were extremely talkative.  We have a video to show you when we get home!

Deer at the deer farm we rode past at the last part of our journey.

Scout camp in Austria?  I'm in!

Amazing scenery!

At a rest stop for water after some of the more "undulating" portions of the route.

A stop at a guesthouse for a much deserved ice cream snack!

No, I didn't get out in the field with the cows!  I just did a little trick photography and shot the picture from under the electric fence (from a good distance with the telephoto lens...I learned my lesson with the electric fence when I was younger!)

Wildflowers everywhere!

The long and winding road...

and the occasional car!

Once we finally arrived in our room, we discovered another beautiful view

Tomorrow is a layover day in St. Georgen, but we think we are going to try and figure out how to take the ferry from Attersee to Steinbach so that we can go to Mahler's composing hut.  Wish us luck!
