Day 3-Mondsee

We are now in Mondsee (after another stressful ride on public transportation to the airport)!  We arrived here around noon and spent the day visiting restaurants, St. Michael's Basilica, eating, walking around the town of Mondsee, eating, looking for places to eat, and going to the local Spar.  We also got our bikes this evening and are ready to start biking tomorrow.  It has been incredibly cold and rainy, but the weather forecast for tomorrow is better.  Hopefully, the rain will stay away and allow the sun a chance to shine tomorrow!

St. Michael's Basilica (for Sound of Music fans, this is where the wedding was filmed)

Road leading to the town of Mondsee.  I haven't been able to prove this, but I think this was also in the Sound of Music in the scene when Georg is driving back from Vienna with the Baroness and Max and the kids are hanging out of the trees.

The lake has escaped the banks!  Hopefully, we won't have any trouble with flooding during our ride tomorrow.

Chocolate overload!  They take their hot chocolate seriously here!  (this is what two non-smoking teetotalers drink and eat for dessert in the "cafe" where everyone else is drinking and smoking...I had to eat quickly and leave because I couldn't stand the horrible smell of EVERYONE in the restaurant smoking.  These people seem fairly bright here...do the translations on the side of the cigarettes somehow lose the meaning of THESE CAUSE CANCER?)

I told you we did quite a bit of eating today!  However, we split all of our meals (except dessert, I wasn't sharing that with anyone!)

Quite the ketchup selection...including the HOT ketchup and the XXX HOT Ketchup!

I'm wondering if the tomato juice really makes you have a happy day?  I think it is placed strategically to the right of the sauerkraut juice because, compared to drinking sauerkraut juice, tomato juice would make me happy!

I'm not sure what these peanut M&M's did, but they appear to be in trouble!

At the checkout at Spar...Air Waves, Orbit Gum, and tiny bottles of vodka.  Where is the chocolate?  I can hear it now...."but Mommy, I want some Smirnoff's!"  Checkout lady:  "Would you like to keep this in your purse?"

My favorite band is going to be in concert on the 8th of June.  I wish I were going to be in Mondsee to hear AC DX.  I wonder if the Xhicgo is opening for them?
