What a long day! Today was potentially our longest ride at 40+km. I say potentially, because for our next ride on Sunday we are supposed to take the ferry to the other side of Lake Traunsee and start our ride from the other side of the lake. However, with the flooding here, the ferry isn't running right now so our next ride could potentially be much longer than today because we will ride all of the way around the lake to get to our starting point!
The ride was filled with beautiful views again, and some interesting scenery (and smells) through the farming district. We crossed under and over the autobahn at least 5 times today so we near major areas, it just didn't seam like it. We left Lake Attersee and are now on Lake Traunsee. Our new hotel is right on the lake and the views from our room are spectacular. I can see why Mahler, Brahms, Schubert, and Liszt were so inspired to come to the region to compose many of their works during the summer months.
Here are some more random photos from our last 24 hours:

Creepy clown photos in the hallway outside our room in St. Georgen. I'm pretty sure that these caused the freaky dream that I had last night where Mr. Clutinger and I were taking Ms. MacDougall home after school. She was having her car repaired, so Mr. Clutinger and I volunteered to drive her home, but we were driving my 1980's Honda Civic and we were all sitting in the back seat, with Ms. MacDougall driving from the rear passenger's side. We pulled up to a stoplight in her neighborhood and the car two in front of us wasn't moving so the car in front of us had a lady get out of the passenger's side and fired a gun at them. We were all hunched down in the backseat so Ms. MacDougall assured us that we would be fine. This is what weird clown portraits do to my sleep evidently. | |

Music School in St. Georgen. We went inside and looked around but no one was around since it was later evening and the whole town basically shuts down at 7:00 pm. |

Close up view of the church steeple in St. Georgen from my blog yesterday. |

Tiny kid carts at SPAR that you also have to pay to use! |

Getting ready for our long ride. |

A horse farm on the left that we passed today. |

Swans in Lake Attersee |

Stop number one in Seewalchen am Attersee. |
 |
Quite a steep hill through a dense forest. You can't tell from the photo, but it was really steep! |
 |
Stop number 2-Band stand in Pinsdorf and... |
 |
Sheep grazing near the path. I like how there is one lone black sheep in the middle of the flock! |

Schloss Ort |
 |
Water marks in Schloss Ort. Notice the small 2013 hand written in blue to the right of 1829. That was from the flooding a few days ago! |
 |
Home at last! After 6 hours of biking, these were the amazing views from our window! |
 |
However, there is yet another creepy clown portrait in the hallway outside our room. This time it appears to be a drunken clown...what is it with the Austrians and the clowns? |
 |
Hopefully the night time view from our hotel will offset the creepy clown when I'm dreaming tonight! |
